Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin, President's nominee to lead the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), has stated that he would require federal immigration agents to obtain judicial warrants to enter private property. This is part of a key reform demand for the department's law enforcement as Democrats continue withholding votes to fund DHS during a 33-day partial government shutdown. Mullin supports the warrants during his confirmation hearing and does not plan to send DHS law enforcement agents to polling sites unless there is a present danger. The White House has offered an updated offer to end the shutdown, which has resulted in travel disruption as thousands of Transportation Security Administration agents go without pay.
