Karl Jordan Jr. who was convicted and then cleared of killing rap star Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC could be freed within days after a judge granted him $1 million bond. However, he still faces drug charges unrelated to the 2002 death. While Jordan remains behind bars, pending a final appeal, he will be freed once his bond paperwork is in order. If released, he would be under electronic monitoring. The case against Jordan was cold for years before he and Ronald Washington were arrested in 2020. A jury convicted the men in 2024, but in 2025, Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall acquitted Jordan of Mizell's killing. Prosecutors are currently in plea talks with a third man charged in the killing.
