A local mother, Casey Lay, is using the loss of her son, Morgan Myers, to raise money to help others in his memory. Myers was shot and killed in Springfield Township last June, and two 16-year-olds were later charged in his death. Over the last year, Lay started Morgan Myers Legacy, a non-profit dedicated to raising money for good deeds for others. She says they have helped 15 single parents put food on the table for Thanksgiving, and even purchased diapers, cribs, and other essentials for expecting mothers. The charity will be fundraising at Raising Canes on Beechmont and Eastgate on the third Thursday of every month.
