Perplexity priced me out of its OpenClaw clone

Perplexity is launching a personal AI assistant for the Mac, named Personal Computer, which is designed to smooth out the rough edges of OpenClaw. However, Personal Computer is not available for free or on Perplexity's $20-per-month Pro plan, but only for access via the Max tier, which costs $200 monthly. This price reflects the difficulty of personal AI agents, which are notorious for spending AI tokens like no tomorrow as they perform multi-step tasks. Despite these limitations, Perplexic's Personal Computer remains out of reach for everyday users.
