DOJ reverses course, seeks to revive lawsuit bid against law firms

The US Justice Department has withdrawn its request to voluntarily dismiss lawsuits against law firms representing or employing some of President Trump's critics. The department has asked the court to dismiss these cases, stating it still intends to pursue appeals against the firms that won rulings against Trump's executive orders. The decision was made after other major law firms agreed to provide almost $1 billion in legal assistance to the president instead of going to court. It is unclear whether the appeals court will allow the DOJ to revive the cases.
