Voters in the Park District of Oak Park will decide whether or not the district will build a new indoor aquatic facility. The Park District is seeking $40 million to build a facility adjacent to the Ridgeland Common Recreation Complex. The addition would include three different aquatic features, including a 25-yard pool for lap swimming, a warm water pool for fitness, therapy and swim lessons, and a splash pad with slides. The owner of a $400,000 home would pay a monthly hike of $14.35 as part of the district's portion of property tax bills to help build and run the new facility. If approved, the new indoor facility would be built in place of the existing Ridganed pool.
