Lufthansa aircraft are returning to the skies as scheduled following a week of strike action, which resulted in thousands of flight cancellations. The disruption, along with the cabin crew union UFO and the pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit, disrupted operations at Lufthana, Lufuthansa Cargo, and Cityline for five days. The company suspended flight operations at Cityline due to high fuel costs and uncertain future of the fleet. The pilots’ union criticised the shutdown as contradictory and unsettling for affected employees, questioning its justification for removing capacity from the market.
