TriMet is retiring its oldest MAX trains — and you’re invited to the goodbye party

The oldest MAX train set to be retired by TriMet, known as "MAX Type 1s," is being celebrated at a farewell party at Holladay Park from noon to 3 p.m. The public is encouraged to write messages on the train and wear costumes to commemorate the occasion. The train was introduced in 1986 as part of the TriMet's $214 million light-rail project.
