The San Jose Earthquakes defeated Minnesota United 4-2 in the U.S. Open Cup round of 16. The match was played at PayPal Park and was marked by an own goal by the Quakes' goalkeeper. Additionally, Niko Tsakiris and Jack Skahan scored for the Earthquakes. The Loons return to official MLS play on May 2.
