The number of Oregon taxpayers from Clark County, which pays more income taxes to Oregon than any other county, has declined by about 8% since the end of the pandemic. The decline may be due to job location and remote work, as Oregon is ranked 2nd among states with the most remote workers and the growing number of remote workers has increased. The decrease in taxpayers from the county hasn't significantly impacted Oregon state revenues, partly due to Clark County residents only paying 2% of the state's income taxes. However, while fewer workers are crossing the river, those earning more than $3.8 billion in 2023, an average of $53,000 per person is up from $49,000 in tax pay.
