Israel’s ‘Crimson Thread’ military barrier in the West Bank’�s Jordan Valley is cutting off Palestinian communities from their land, with settlers benefiting from this. The barrier, announced in 2025, will eventually cover 500km, splitting Palestinians from thousands of hectares of land and creating a barrier similar to the separation wall on the other side of the West. The area has been under lockdown by Israeli forces, who destroyed three wells belonging to local Palestinians and warned residents to leave in preparation for a complete Israeli takeover. In recent weeks, Israeli military has issued orders to seize private land and destroy infrastructure including irrigation pipes, water wells, and greenhouses in the barrier's path. Israeli military commander Gilad Shriki visited several Palestinian communities on March 8 and warned them to leave.
