Alaska's News Source has reported that it will be sunny and chilly this week, with temperatures expected to remain 10 to 20 degrees below normal for the first half of the week before temperatures warm to near normal by the weekend. Southcentral to the Interior will remain chilly, with lows reaching 30 to near 40 degrees below zero. However, low pressure remains over the North Slope, leading to strong winds and lingering clouds. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Central Beaufort Sea Coast to the Central Arctic Plains through Wednesday for blowing snow with gusts up to 45 mph. The Aleutian Chain from the central islands up the Alaska Peninsula will see some rain and light snow to start the week with cloudy skies.
