A Broadway revival of "The Rocky Horror Show" is limiting audience participation in "callback" lines, which are typically raunchy one-liners shouted by spectators timed to certain parts of the show. Management at Studio 54 has put up signs in the theater discouraging fans from participating in these lines. A new section on the production's website instructs fans to carefully choose their call outs as this is a Broadway musical, not a midnight showing of the film. Fans argue that the musical just isn't the same if they cannot sing along, shout out lines of dialogue and throw items during performances. The production’s director, Sam Pinkleton, acknowledged that there are classic callbacks that can be done, but the new production's star, Luke Evans, warned against "hardcore" fans who continually fire off callback lines.
