A potential merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. could end the life of HBO Max, following Netflix's decision to abandon its bid for Warner Bros., potentially resulting in higher streaming prices. Paramount CEO David Ellison has stated that he plans to maintain HBO's independence and use all of their content globally. The merger between Warners and Paramount is still subject to federal regulators. If successful, a combined Paramount/HBO Max could cost over $30 a month.
