DUI driver convicted of murder in fatal Carlsbad crash sentenced

Andrew David Shaw, a 46-year-old man convicted of murder for driving drunk and killing another motorist in a crash on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad, California, has been sentenced to 21 years to life in prison. The crash killed Aurora Rodriguez Urrea and injured her adult daughter, both of whom were hospitalized. Prosecutors allege that Shaw was drinking heavily prior to the crash and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.09.
