Lip-Bu Tan, CEO of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), has been appointed to a board member of the $7 billion-valued quantum computing firm PsiQuantum. This follows his long history of backing quantum computing ventures through A&E Investments, a venture capital firm he chairs. The company rejected a proposal by Tan to acquire AI startup Rivos in 2025 due to conflict-of-interest concerns and a lack of a clear AI strategy. Despite this controversy, some believe his industry ties could benefit Intel.
