Cardi B Secures Legal Victory as Judge Dismisses $50 Million Copyright Infringement Suit

A Texas judge has dismissed a $50 million copyright infringement lawsuit against Grammy-winning singer Cardi B. The suit was filed by Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar in July 2024 alleging that her song "Enough (Miami) had copied, misappropriated and profited off their own song, "Greasy Frybread." The plaintiffs claimed that the release of their song caused them reputational harm within the music industry and they were blacklisted. Despite these efforts, Cardi's lawyers argued that the song was not copyright protected and that Texas law should apply.
