Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky, accused of killing a patient by removing his liver rather than his spleen, was driving passengers for Lyft when he was arrested in Miramar Beach, Florida. The body camera video obtained by NBC News shows deputies with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office descending with their weapons drawn on a Mitsubishi sports utility vehicle driven by Shakmovsky. The video was shown as deputies handcuffed him and two women got out of the car. Shaknovovsky had been driving for Lyft for over a year and had a five-star rating for over 3,000 rides. He is scheduled to be arraigned on May 19 and could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted of second-degree manslaughter in the patient's death.
