Survivor host Jeff Probst and pop star Billie Eilish came up with the idea for the Billie-Eilish Boomerang Idol, a new type of immunity idol that is impacting contestants on the current 50th season of the show. The player who discovers the idol must secretly give it away to someone on an opposing tribe to avoid being eliminated at tribal council or lose it, which if successful, it returns to the person who found the idol. The idol adds a new strategic layer to season 50 as the person giving away can ally with the other contestant later in the game or hope that the idol holder gets voted out without using the idol if they do so.
