Pacoima businesses voice safety concerns as RV encampments disrupt local commerce

Business owners along Montague Street in Pacoima have expressed concerns about unsafe conditions outside of their businesses, which have driven customers away. The area is now known as "Skid Row of the Valley" with discarded furniture, satellite dishes, and piles of trash. One tenant paying $80,000 per month for 60,000 square feet of warehouse space is leaving due to the conditions. Adom Stauber, who owns a commercial building on the street, has been reaching out to Los Angeles City Councilmember Monica Rodriguez for two years but has seen no change. Rodriguez responded by saying her office has helped move 67 people out of 22 RVs along a corridor of RVs.
