Elon Musk has announced a partnership with Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI to build a $25 billion chip-making factory in Austin, Texas. If built, Terafab would be the world's largest semiconductor manufacturing plant. The project aims to address a shortage of chips that will power devices that will bring AI robotics and more to life. The CHIPS Act of 2022 has seen a rise in interest in semiconductor facilities in the US, with Intel's $8 billion factory already completed. However, there is no word yet on whether Terafafab will receive funding under the Act.
