Lborghini's new GT3 racer, the Temerario GT3, made its racing debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring at the IMSA endurance race. The car uses a nonhybrid version of the road car's V-8, although with notable changes including smaller turbochargers. Lamborghini believes GT3 racing is a great way to showcase its supercars and test the performance and durability of materials. The company's CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, emphasised the importance of racing for the brand as a core part of its heritage and strategy. The new car, which replaces the Huracán as its GT3 challenger, is run by Canadian team Pfaff Motorsports in IMSA with support from Lamborghinis's Squadra Corse motorsports department. Additionally, Lamborghin is preparing the next Super Trofeo racer, set to debut in 2027.
