Hurray For The Riff Raff on a new album, life in Chicago and the charm of songwriting in winter

Alynda Segarra, the singer behind Hurray For The Riff Raff, has released her eighth studio album under the name of "The Past is Still Alive" in 2024. The album was produced by Chicago's Johnny Wilson and includes a new live album, "Live Forever," recorded last summer at the Old Town School of Folk Music. The live album also includes some songs from Segra's time as a teenager, including "Alibi" and "Precious Cargo." The album will be released digitally on Friday and in record form on May 8 via New York label Nonesuch Records.
