The Allen County Democratic Party, ACDP, has filed a complaint to the Indiana Supreme Court against Senior Judge Wendy Davis for violating the Indiana Code of Conduct Rule 4.1(A)3. The ACDP alleges that Davis violated the rule when she hosted a fundraiser for a Republican candidate for Allen County Commissioner. The event was allegedly sent to all Allen County Republican Party subscribers. Davis maintains she did not violate any code of conduct and has stated that she consulted with ethics officials before forming an exploratory committee. The Code of Judicial Conduct applies differently to Senior Judges, like Davis, who do not need to follow it as long as she does not use the senior judge title or appear in judicial robes for the endorsement.
