John Cornyn (R-Texas), of betraying President Trump by voting to confirm Merrick Garland and Lisa Monaco as U.S. attorney general. The race is currently in a competitive runoff and could potentially cost taxpayers if Paxton wins. The winner of the May 26 runoff will face Texas state Rep. James Talarico in November. Top Republicans on Capitol Hill have been lobbying Trump to endorse Cornyn, but he has yet to make a decision.
