Atlanta drivers face full I-285 shutdown near I-20 this weekend

On Friday night, the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) will close all northbound and southbound lanes on the west side of I-285 in an effort to rebuild the road. The $206 million project involves repairing and replacing concrete slabs and is expected to last until 2028. Local roads parallel to the busy interstate are expected to cause traffic disruption. The closure could add thousands of cars to the already congested interstate.
