A federal appeals court has ruled that construction of the White House ballroom can continue temporarily after a judge halted construction last month. The three-judge panel from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled 2-1 that the preliminary injunction should be put on hold until April 17, allowing construction to continue. The panel also asked U.K. District Judge Richard Leon, appointed by former President George W. Bush, to clarify the order in an appeal. The National Trust for Historic Preservation's challenge to the administration's appeal for the $400 million project was dismissed, claiming it lacks standing and that President Trump has the authority to build the ballroom.
