Small businesses bearing the brunt of water main breaks

Small businesses in New Orleans are reporting significant financial impacts from the recent boil water advisory and subsequent water main breaks. The most recent advisory for the East Bank has been lifted, but it does not mean that the work is still being done well. Small businesses have lost an entire month worth of rent in gross sales so far this year due to these advisories. Tacos Del Cartel closed its doors for lunch after a major water pipe burst, costing the business around $5,000. The city's Sewerage and Water Board has stated that it will not be providing a service for the public during this period.
