Türkiyan's installed electricity capacity reached 124,321 megawatts by the end of February, accounting for 62.4 percent of the total. The Energy and Natural Resources Ministry announced that solar and wind power contributed 41,098 megawatts, representing 33.1 percent of overall capacity. The largest single source of power was hydroelectricity, followed by solar power, natural gas, and domestic coal. Approximately 8,200 megawatts of renewable capacity was added last year, a figure comparable to the total installed power of some European countries.
