The Hyundai Santa Cruz, a compact truck segment dominated by Ford and Hyundai, has been discontinued after a decade without significant new vehicles in the market. Ford and Honda both arrived with different ideas on what the compact truck sector should resemble in the 2020s. Ford's Maverick was a hit with orders for the first two model years, while Hyundai's Santa Cruz struggled to compete, despite increasing its price year over year. 2026 will be the last model year for Hyundai's "Sport Adventure Vehicle." The Hyundai Tucson, meanwhile, can be had for around $29,200 and $40,675, depending on trim level. The Ford Maverick can be purchased in 2026 for anywhere from $28,145 to $41,425 before options and other fees depending on the trim. However, Hyundai's top-of-the-line Limited trim can be seen in its finest Hampton Gray paint. The Santa Cruz can also be had as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid, with one of two engine configurations available. The Maverick's hybrid version of the Maverick has a combined rating of 37 mpg, while the hybrid version has 37.
