Carnell Tate, a Chicago native, has been drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Tate's mother, Ashley Griggs, died in a shooting in 2023. Tate, who grew up in the West Garfield Park neighborhood in Chicago, is expected to be the first receiver off the board in the draft. His high school teammate, Nolan Baudo, recalls feeling something different about Tate from the start. Tate was named "Mister" by his family and was introduced as a player at a Marist football camp.
