Mohamed Salim, a 44-year-old man, was killed when his SUV in which he was riding rear-ended a parked backhoe in the Bronx, according to his family. The accident occurred near Salim's autobody shop, where unused equipment had been left outside for weeks. The driver, a 24-year old man, lost control of the vehicle and the two others in the vehicle are expected to survive. The family blames the city for the crash, alleging that the backhoe was parked illegally. The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is currently working to determine what sparked the crash.
