President Donald Trump has urged congressional Republicans to extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), a part of the law that allows warrantless wiretaps of non-U.S. citizens for the next 18 months. Trump argues that this part of FISA was not the one misused during the Russiagate hoax and should be extended. He calls on Republicans to vote together on the test vote to ensure a clean Bill. The Joint Chiefs of Staff also supports the extension, citing the military's success in Venezuela and Iran. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley also supports a clean 18-month extension of Section 702.
