A chilly start to the week began with temperatures reaching 39 degrees at Detroit Metro Airport, well below early April averages of the mid-50s. High pressure over the Great Lakes will keep skies mostly clear and temperatures dropping, with overnight lows expected to fall into the 20s across much of the region. By Wednesday, warmer air will begin to move into Lower Michigan, with afternoon temperatures expected to recover into the mid50s for many communities. Despite this, a flood warning remains in effect for Kearsley Creek in Genesee County near Davison due to rising water levels. The next weather system is expected to arrive early Thursday morning, bringing the first round of rainfall, which could reach around a half inch. However, another round of rainfall is expected late Thursday night, becoming more widespread toward early Friday morning. The weekend will see temperatures gradually warm up, with a more noticeable warmup taking hold over the weekend.
