Thousands fill city streets for Vaisakhi celebrations

Thousands of people gathered in Southampton for the annual Vaisakhi festival, one of the most important events in the Sikh calendar, to celebrate the creation of the Khalsa community. The event was led by the Panj Pyare (the Five Beloved Ones), which combines prayer, music, and self-sacrifice. The festival is also known for its egalitarian nature.
