New Mexico AG says Meta is threatening to pull platforms from state

New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez has criticised Meta for threatening to shut down its social media platforms in the state following a jury verdict against the company. The company had been ordered to pay $375 million in damages for violating New Mexico's Unfair Practices Act, which prohibits unfair, deceptive and misleading business ventures across the state. In a court filing, Meta stated that the state's demands for the company are technologically impractical or completely impossible. The state has also demanded that Meta eliminate its infinite scroll feature, which the company described as a “foundational aspect” to its platforms.
