The Quilts of Valor of Southern Indiana, a group that puts together quilts for veterans, meets once a month to create the quilts. Retired Navy Chief Kay Miller started the group 15 years ago with three members. The organization has presented almost half a million quilts nationally and 1,212 in Indiana. Each quilt has a label indicating the recipient's identity and location. The quilts are made up of individuals who make them and present them. The group also provides information about how to donate or contribute to the cause.
