Director Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic have released a new animated film, "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie," which celebrates the 40th anniversary of the “Super Mario Bros.” video game. The film is criticized for relying heavily on action rather than narrative elements. The plot revolves around Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie) seeking recognition from his incarcerated father, Bowser, and Princess Rosalina (Brie Larson), who is the mother to the stars, and Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (both) joining the quest to save Princess Peach. However, the film's screenwriter, Matthew Fogel, was more interested in adding new characters to the animated galaxy than creating a more appealing tale. The team behind the successful "Teen Titans Go to the Movies!" had previously managed to take a group of heroes through action-filled paces while allowing time to tell full stories about the characters.
