Republican Sen. Ron Johnson (Wisc.) stated that the United States has not yet won the war with Iran, despite President Trump stating otherwise. Johnson stated his priority is to ensure that Iran cannot produce a nuclear weapon, enrich uranium, hold the Strait of Hormuz hostage, and completely defanged the Iranian regime. Despite efforts from Iranian officials and a U.S. delegation to curb Tehran's nuclear program and end hostilities, no agreement was reached. The administration's "red lines" for Iran include ending all uranium enrichment, dismantling major nuclear enrichment facilities, accepting a broader peace, security and de-escalation framework with regional allies, and fully opening the strait without charging tolls for passage.
