A Texas father has fatally shot a would-be carjacker who tried to steal his car, with his family, including his young children, still inside. The incident occurred after a driver crashed into two cars near Highway 66, about 18 miles outside Downtown Dallas. The suspect fled the scene of a multi-vehicle crash and approached the victim's white Impala in a parking lot across the street. He prompted the father to jump out of the car, leading to a struggle and the father produced a firearm and fired more than 10 rounds at the suspect. The suspected carjacker died from his injuries. All passengers in the targeted vehicle, including the children, escaped without injury. Police are investigating the incident as a self-defense case and are working to identify the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic male.
