Gold medal-winning beer brand files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

The Craft Beer Apocalypse has resulted in hundreds of high-quality craft breweries filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, with many filing for protection to continue operating and others forced to close. Among these breweries, including Kiitos Brewing LLC, which won two gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival for its Blonde and Pale Ale, filed for bankruptcy on April 24, 2026. The company's founder and owner, Andrew Dasenbrock, launched the brewery in 2016 using a high-efficiency brewing system that saves energy and uses 40% less water and 15%-20% less grain. The bankruptcy filing did not specify a specific reason for filing for bankruptcy.
