A Florida teenager, Lucas Sander Jones, has been charged with second-degree murder after police found evidence linking him to the murder of 28-year-old Colie Lee Daniel. The Palm Bay Police Department responded to a report of vultures surrounding a closed, abandoned suitcase in Palm Bay. They found a black suitcase with human remains and a second suitcase with additional remains. Jones allegedly confessed to the killing to his girlfriend and told her he wanted to kill sex offenders. He also allegedly printed out a list of registered sex offenders nearby. Jones was initially arrested for felony abuse of a dead human body and tampering with evidence, but as the investigation progressed, police determined the evidence justified a murder charge.
