Pedestrian in critical condition after Oakland hit-and-run collision

A 59-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a car that did not stop near the Uptown district. The collision occurred about 5:58 p.m. on Wednesday. The car, described as a silver Hyundai Elantra, continued to drive away and was last seen heading northbound on the opposite side of the road. The man suffered a fractured skull, a broken leg, and other injuries.
