The North Korea Freedom Coalition (NKFC) has announced plans for its 23rd Annual North Korean Freedom Week, focusing on North Koreans' efforts to bring freedom to their homeland through peaceful information. The theme of the week is "TRUTH will set them FREE and NORTH KOREANS are leading the way," highlighting concerns about the situation surrounding human rights activists in South Korea, where President Lee Jae Myung’s administration is cracking down on efforts to send leaflets into North Korea. The NKFC organizers acknowledge this is the most challenging time in the history of the North Korea human rights movement and urge the South Korean government to uphold the freedom, human rights, and dignity of North Korean people. They also highlight the increasing threat posed to the Republic of Korea's Constitution and potentially its obligations as a signatory to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
