Mina Mahmood, a junior neuroscience major at Indiana University Northwest, participated in student research into early detection of Alzheimer’s disease in summer 2025. She was part of a Datawiz-IN student research project promoting health data science and artificial intelligence. Mahmood discovered the program through her involvement in IUN's student government. She researched a less invasive way to diagnose and detect Alzheimer's disease and was the only undergraduate student involved in the study. Her findings were presented at Regionals at the Rotunda, an IU event highlighting research from regional campuses.
