Focus Features has announced that it will release Hot Spot, an AI-themed sci-fi thriller featuring director Agnieszka Smoczyńska, in North America on August 21. The film is set in a near future society ruled by A.I. It is a Polish-Greek co-production, with Madants and its partners producing on the Polish side and Neda Film co-operative for Greece. The cast includes Andrzej Konopka, Noomi Rapace, and Reika Kirishima. The release follows the release of The AI Doc: or How I Became an Apocaloptimist and Lively.
