Kansas Sen. Roger Marshall explains vote, urges patience as Republican-led Senate votes down war powers resolution

A war powers resolution related to the Iran War failed again in the Senate, marking the fourth time this year that the Senate has voted to surrender its powers to President Trump. The resolution would have prevented U.S. military operations in Iran until explicitly approved by Congress. Kansas Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall were among the 52-47 majority. The War Powers Resolution, first adopted in 1973, stipulates that Congress must declare war or authorize use of force within 60 days of the conflict's start.
