Mia Sherry, a junior midfielder for Marist, returned from a torn ACL injury to score two goals in a 3-0 win over Lemont in a Windy City Ram Classic first-round game at Joliet West. This was Sherry's first game back since April after undergoing surgery. She scored twice in less than a minute in the second half, giving Marist a strong start. The team's leading scorer last season, who was sidelined for the end of the regular season and playoffs, said she felt like herself again after scoring the first goal. The victory was a good start for Marists, with goalkeeper Giuliana Conte and a strong defense led by Liliana Madrid, Vivian Rybak, Julia Skol and Addison Woodward.
