Fresno County has approved the purchase of two downtown buildings in downtown Fresno for $25 million. The offices are currently being used by Pacific Gas and Electric Co (PG&E), and the acquisition includes around 102,580 square feet of space and a parking lot of 189,185 square feet. The buildings, built in 1989, are expected to meet the county's growing office space needs and relocate the Fresno County Sheriff’s office administration. The purchase agreement includes a different clause granting mutual indemnity for broker claims, which was deemed an acceptable business risk by the County Administrative Office. The acquisition aligns with long-term planning in Downtown Fresno, where the state Judicial Council is preparing to replace the nearly 60-year-old Fresno County Courthouse with construction set to begin in 2028.
