A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of Kentucky and Southern Indiana until 10 a.m. on March 2, with a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain expected to create slick road conditions. The advisory also includes the potential for strong or severe thunderstorms for the following week. As a result of the advisory, schools in Oldham County and Shelby County Public Schools have closed due to safety concerns. Looking forward, an "increasingly wet" weather pattern is expected to move through the area, with Louisville expected to see above-average levels of precipitation March 9-15.
